The purpose of the Hastings Democratic Committee is to fulfill its primary objective of electing qualified Democratic candidates to office. To further this purpose, we seek to elect competent and actively engaged persons to occupy our committee positions, to promote open discussion of issues relevant to our community, and to practice fair Democratic procedures in carrying out our committee functions. In each case — in keeping with Democratic ideals of fairness, inclusion and transparency — we aim to inspire, inform and enlist all interested local Democrats in our activities. In so doing, the Committee aims to engage in best practices to advance the platform of the Democratic Party.
