It's Petition Time—

Democrats, we need your signatures!

This is the time when the members of the Hastings Democratic Committee are out walking our neighborhoods and public gatherings—clipboards and pens in hand—to ask for your help in getting Democratic candidates on the ballot for the June 28th primary and November 8th general election. The petitions they're carrying are for Congressional representative, NY State Senate, NY State Assembly, County Judge, and Town Justice, as well as their own committee positions and those of the two district leaders who represent our Assembly District 92 in the NY State Democratic Committee. When you see a district leader at your door, or perhaps at the farmers' market, please take a few minutes to help us get this essential work done! Keep in mind that your signatures serve only to get candidates on the ballot, and do not obligate you to vote for that same candidate at the polls. And, remember that you may sign for only one candidate in a race for any given office. If you're looking to sign or carry a petition, write to us at hastingsdems10706@gmail.com.

The purpose of the Hastings Democratic Committee is to fulfill its primary objective of electing qualified Democratic candidates to office. To further this purpose, we seek to elect competent and actively engaged persons to occupy our committee positions, to promote open discussion of issues relevant to our community, and to practice fair Democratic procedures in carrying out our committee functions. In each case — in keeping with Democratic ideals of fairness, inclusion and transparency — we aim to inspire, inform and enlist all interested local Democrats in our activities. In so doing, the Committee aims to engage in best practices to advance the platform of the Democratic Party.

Registered Hastings-on-Hudson Democrats are welcome to sign up for our emails to learn about upcoming meetings and other activities.

The Hastings Democratic Committee meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 8:00 p.m., unless posted  otherwise to our email list.
